Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s potential run for president in 2027 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been denied by Dele Momodu, a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
While answering questions on Channels Television’s Sunrise program on Friday, Momodu stated that Jonathan’s return bid is still opposed by firmly established PDP interests.
Additionally, he clarified that political gatherings, like Jonathan’s recent encounters with Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, should not be seen as indications of a partnership because politicians frequently get together for different purposes.Citing public responses to a recent meeting between President Bola Tinubu and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, Momodu continued, “Speculation is common in politics.” “Those who are saying that former President Jonathan will run on the PDP platform, I doubt it,” he said, adding that those who are determined to destroy the PDP are still very much in place. There are those who argue that it’s common for politicians to meet and that he and former Governor Peter Obi are meeting. They get together frequently. People claimed that Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso was leaving the NNPP and joining the APC after they saw a photo of him with President Bola Tinubu the other day. There is a lot of speculation.
