Lagos State 2023 governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has emphatically stated that he would not align with president Bola Tinubu to become the state governor come 2027.
Rhodes-Vivour, who said this on Sunday, when he was responding to questions in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television, stressed that it would be a complete waste of time for him to do so
“I will rather go and focus on my business, my work, and my family. That [aligning with Tinubu] will be a complete waste of time.We are in politics to improve the lives of Lagosians and to bring the city back to its former splendor, which many people may not be aware of given its history and the greatness it once was,” he stated. The politician went on to say that it would be a complete waste of time for any party to prevent him from making the most of the Commonwealth of Lagos for the benefit of its citizens. He said it would be better for Lagos if the dominance of what he calls “agberocracry” was abolished. Rhodes-Vivour, who recently joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from the Labour Party, stated that he has chosen to challenge the ruling party.
