Expel Wike from PDP now – FredFish challenges party leader

Dr. Tom FredFish, the chairman of the PDP Advocate for Peace and Justice (PAPAJ) and a prominent member of the PDP in Akwa Ibom State, has urged the party’s leaders to use constitutional provisions to remove Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), from the party.

Speaking to reporters in Uyo today, FresFish made the call. He was responding to Wike’s claim that he could not be kicked out of the PDP by anyone.

FredFish maintained that Wike has been acting against the party’s interests in flagrant violation of the party’s constitution, ideals, and principles, while urging the PDP to use the heavy stick on him by promptly expelling him.

The lawmaker from Akwa Ibom also criticized Wike’s assertions that he is putting in a lot of effort for the PDP.

Nigerians should ask Mr. Wike what type of hard work he is doing for the PDP if he claims to be working hard for the party, he stated. Is the effort constructive or detrimental?

How can a man who has been working against the party’s interests after failing to secure the PDP ticket in the 2023 presidential election still claim to be acting in the party’s best interests? How is he able to say that?

Is he not the same Wike who publicly opposed the PDP in the 2023 presidential election and who also ordered, encouraged, and conspired with his 27 loyal members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to defect to the APC and work against the PDP-controlled state’s interests?

Mr. Wike was appointed to dismantle the PDP, and he is doing a great job of it, according to the PDP Advocate for Peace and Justice. He shouldn’t expect national party supporters to applaud him for undermining the leadership’s efforts.

“No one in the country has de-marketed the PDP more than Wike, who has consistently used derogatory language against the PDP and its leaders—the most recent being his remarks about Oyo State Governor Mr. Seyi Makinde,” noted FredFish.

“The PDP Advocate for Peace and Justice (PAPAJ) is urging the PDP Board of Trustees, led by Senator Adolfus Wabara, former Vice President of Nigeria Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President Senator David Mark, and other party leaders to unite and encourage the National Working Committee (NWC) to invoke sections 10(6), 57, and 58 of the PDP Constitution, as amended in 2017, for which he (Wile) should be expelled under Section 59 of the PDP Constitution,” he continued.
