England manager, Thomas Tuchel believes that the absence of Arsenal and Liverpool in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup will give both clubs a boost in the Premier League title race.
The updated Club World Cup, featuring 32 teams, is scheduled to occur in the USA from June 14 to July 13.
Chelsea and Manchester City are the only teams that will represent the Premier League after their recent UEFA Champions League victories.
Tuchel, however, anticipates that the tournament will greatly affect Chelsea and Man City at the start of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
He believes that Arsenal and Liverpool will have a significant advantage by not being involved in the competition for next season’s Premier League title.
Tuchel, as quoted by Metro UK, stated, “I believe it will greatly influence things and provide Liverpool and Arsenal with a significant edge in the upcoming season’s [Premier League title race] by not being there.”
“For players participating in this tournament for the first time, I believe it will be a very nice experience. Thus, my feelings about it are mixed.”
