Sultan advises security agencies to “deal with social media as a terrorist organization.”

In a speech on Wednesday, Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, referred to social media as a “terrorist organization” and called on security services to confront its threats.

The well-known Nigerian traditional elder criticized the site for disseminating misleading information that has the potential to destabilize society in the comments, which were caught on camera and published by News Central.

“What transpired has transpired. Social media is a terrorist organization, thus you can’t come and utilize it.

“Terrorist organizations operate on social media. The Sultan said, “What they do is that someone will sit down in his comfort zone and make up stories, and you will find out that it isn’t true.”

The Sultan feels that people who create false tales online may readily spread misinformation, which is why he is calling for measures to stop it.

Therefore, we need to address social media like a terrorist organization. “This terrorist organization called social media must be dealt with by security agencies,” he reaffirmed.
