Nigerian singer Ayra Starr, who is nominated for a Grammy, has enjoyed her acting debut in the American fantasy movie Children of Blood and Bone.
In a recent interview with CBS, Starr discussed her experience and said that, in contrast to the music industry, she was required to work hard and be on time.
She emphasized that the encounter increased her admiration for acting.
“Children of Blood and Bone is my first movie ever,” she remarked. I’m accustomed to being a diva and singing on set, but this movie is like, “It’s not about you.” I had to become used to working hard and being on set on time because of this. I now have a lot more respect for actors. They have perfect endurance.
“Being an actor has always been my dream. I’ve always enjoyed acting, but I also adore music. When it comes to t9 acting, I’ve always been bashful. However, this is the first time I’ve ever appeared on camera without singing. It was incredible. Everyone, not just the greats, taught me a lot.
The movie is based on the best-selling book Children of Blood and Bone by Nigerian-American author Tomi Adeyemi.
Director Gina Prince-Bythewood is in charge of it. Damson Idris, Tosin Cole, Idris Elba, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Cynthia Erivo, Viola Davis, and Thuso Mbedu are among the cast members.
Paramount Pictures plans to release the film on January 15, 2027.
