Garba Shehu, a former presidential spokesperson, claims that by choosing to work as former President Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, he did not betray his former mentor, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
In an address to the media on Tuesday in Abuja, Shehu revealed his memoir, “According to the President: Lessons from a Presidential Spokesperson’s Experience,” which will be released to the public on July 9, 2025.
Shehu noted that once Buhari won the primary, all of the candidates who ran with him for the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) 2014 presidential ticket gave him their campaign funds.He claims that Buhari used that justification to name him the spokesperson for the presidential campaign council then, after he won the general election, to name him as his spokesperson.
