Muibi Folawiyo, the chairman of the Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), was arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) on charges of egregious corruption.
Folawiyo is being probed for alleged enormous theft, diversion of public monies for personal use, and failure to follow due procedure, according to ICPC spokeswoman Demola Bakare, who made this revelation to reporters.
After repeatedly turning down invites, which he acknowledged, he was taken into custody at the council secretariat located at 42 Broad Street in Lagos. He is under our care at the moment. For the grounds listed above, a team from the ICPC Headquarters arrested him; however, he has since been released on administrative bail. As the inquiry proceeds, he is anticipated to return today, Bakare stated.
