The Osun Amotekun Corps has strongly cautioned against any attempts by secret societies or cult groups to gather or take part in any activity that could jeopardize the state’s peace and security.
In a statement released in Osogbo on Monday, Isaac Omoyele, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun, gave this warning.
While highlighting the Corps’ consistent commitment to maintaining Osun State’s safety and stability, Omoyele disclosed that intelligence indicated certain groups would try to use this date for illegal or clandestine meetings.
Through its security architecture, the state government would not allow any person or group to try to disrupt the peace in the name of cultural or clandestine celebrations, the Amotekun Corps Commander said.
“Any individual or organization that intends to host meetings or engage in activities linked to covert cults or societies will face the full force of the law,” he declared. We will not permit any forces to disturb the harmony we have laboriously cultivated in Osun State, which is a country of peace.
Urging the residents of Osun State to go about their daily activities without fear, he reassured the public that the Amotekun Corps, in collaboration with other security agencies, is fully mobilized and strategically deployed across the state to respond swiftly to any signs of unrest.
We want to be very clear that anyone found participating in cult-related activities will be arrested and charged right away. “Actions that jeopardize the safety of people and property will not be tolerated at all,” he declared.
Additionally, he urged people to be on guard and to notify the closest security post right away of any suspicious activity.
Security is a shared responsibility between the government and the people, the Commander said, reaffirming the Corps’ commitment to maintaining peace and order in Osun State.
