NNL: Umar says Doma United won’t give up on their quest for promotion.

Alhaji Suleiman Umar, chairman of Doma United, asserts that his squad will not give up on their goal of getting promoted to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

At the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 playoffs in Asaba on Thursday, the Savannah Tigers lost 2-0 to Barau FC, preventing them from qualifying for the NPFL.

Umar gave the players high marks for their tournament performance.

After the last group game at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Umar responded, “We came here with the goal of securing back a slot in the top flight division, and we gave it our all both on and off the field of play, but it seems it wasn’t good enough.”

“I commend my players, officials, and supporters for their dedication to this team; even if the results weren’t in our favor, we will return home and plan how to win again.”

The DAILY POST remembers that at the conclusion of the 2023–24 NPFL season, Doma United was demoted to the second division.
