Mr. Roger Brown, the Chief Executive Officer of Seplat Energy, has revealed that indigenous oil companies have shown the ability and financial capability to assume control of and manage assets belonging to multinational oil companies.
A statement signed by Stanley Opara, who is the Manager of Corporate Communications, External Affairs & Social Performance at Seplat Energy Plc, included this information.Brown, represented by the company’s Chief Operating Officer Mr. Samson Ezugworie, made the remark at the 13th Annual BusinessDay CEO Forum Nigeria. The theme was “Nigeria: From Reform to Recovery.” Daily Trust reports that oil firms have recently engaged in a series of divestments.It should be remembered that Seplat Energy Offshore Limited has recently finalized its acquisition of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, with a transaction valued at $1.2 billion.
