Posters of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, with the caption ‘Kaura for President 2027’ have reportedly swamped crucial spots in Bauchi streets.
According to Naija News, the posters were erected at signboards, electricity poles, and roundabouts around the state capital’s main thoroughfares.
Major thoroughfares such as Railway Road, Sabon Titin Karofi, and Kofar Dumi Street were among those where the posters could be seen.
One of the young people employed to paste the posters, Aminu Auwal, told Daily Trust that two politicians, known as Talolo and Ya’u Ortega, recruited them to complete the task.In the meantime, Shamsudeen, the eldest son of Bala Mohammed, has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to reform, reconcile, and value loyalists like his father before the 2027 presidential election. According to Naija News, the PDP Governors’ Forum, led by Governor Mohammed, rejected coalition talks with other opposition political parties ahead of the next general elections. Auwal stated: “We were directed to post the governor’s posters along major steers of Bauchi state. We started the work around 1am today and we are hoping to finish it today.”Many have viewed this decision as a setback to the party’s leader, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who has been perceived as favoring a coalition with the Labour Party (LP) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP). In a post via X on Monday, April 16, 2025, Shamsudeen stated that the PDP should plan to win the 2027 presidential election and avoid a repeat of the past by using his father as a scapegoat after the election.
He recalled the party’s historic victory in Bauchi during the 2023 presidential elections, which was the first time since 2003 when the state became the stronghold of former President, Muhammadu Buhari.
He attributed the victory to strategic mobilisation, unyielding resolve, and grassroots loyalty.
According to him, his father overcame formidable challenges, including factional disputes within the PDP, aggressive campaigns from the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by President Bola Tinubu and relentless internal and external pressures.
