Nigeria’s insecurity cannot be resolved by military might alone, according to Kabiru Adamu, CEO of Beacon Security and Intelligence LTD, who also emphasized that the underlying causes of the problems must be addressed.
He warned that Nigeria is still far from reaching stability as he revealed that the country has seen fewer security-related fatalities in recent months.
Adamu made this statement on Monday during an appearance on Arise Television’s “Prime Time” program. He discussed the company’s August 2025 security report’s findings and emphasized both its achievements and its continued difficulties.
In May, we had roughly 1,200 recorded deaths. It was roughly 1,100 in June, 800 in July, and only 700 this time around.
That’s still high, though. However, it’s evident that something constructive is happening when you contrast it with the 1,200 we recorded in May,” he said.
He claims that the decrease is the result of increased energy in the security industry.
Improved energy in the security sector is one of them. We witnessed an improvement in both the ground and air components within the military. And probably an improvement in the collection of intelligence.
The attacks were therefore accurate. They were guided by intelligence. The result was the murder of terrorist leaders in the Northeast as well as a large number of commanders of non-state armed groups. So obviously, showing both increased intelligence and energy,” he continued.
The security expert also mentioned the efforts of other agencies, stating that the NDLEA, Customs, and police were making significant progress.
