Playmaker Kevin De Bruyne may join the Red Devils after departing the Cityzens as a free agency this summer, according to a joke made by Manchester United veteran Roy Keane.
De Bruyne’s ten-year tenure at City will come to an end this June after Pep Guardiola’s team decided not to extend the Belgian’s contract.
Consequently, clubs in Saudi Arabia and the United States have reportedly expressed interest in the 33-year-old in recent weeks.
Speaking during an appearance on Sky Sports, former Manchester City star Shay Given suggested that City might come to regret their decision regarding De Bruyne.
He said, “Kevin will admit he is not at his peak but you can see he still has a lot to offer. He can turn up at another Premier League club and that is a concern for City.”
Responding, Keane then suggested De Bruyne could join Manchester United, saying, “United? He wouldn’t have to move house.”
