An ADC leader has stated that any peace agreement with bandits will be meaningless unless it includes their disarmament.

Dr. Mustapha Inuwa, a leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Katsina State, has criticized the ongoing peace talks with bandits, calling them ineffective because the armed groups have not surrendered their weapons. Inuwa, a former Secretary to the State Government, pointed out that bandits continue to attack parts of the state despite claimed progress in negotiations. He highlighted that bandits attend meetings openly carrying rifles and wearing military camouflage, casting doubt on the sincerity of the talks. Despite numerous peace deals over the years, attacks persist, with communities still fearing heavily armed bandits during dialogue sessions. Inuwa emphasized that true peace requires disarmament of bandits, warning that talks without it will be meaningless.
