Gospel singer Frank Edwards has said he was healed of asthma and pneumonia during the crusade led by evangelist Uma Ukpai, as he mourns the cleric’s passing.

Popular Nigerian gospel artist Frank Edwards has expressed grief over the passing of renowned gospel preacher Rev. Uma Ukpai, founder and president of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association.

The family confirmed in a statement on Monday that Ukpai died on October 6 at the age of 80. Tributes and condolences have since flooded social media.

Edwards shared that he was healed of asthma and pneumonia during one of Ukpai’s crusades, writing, “At age 8 I got healed of asthma and pneumonia in one of your crusades in Enugu!! Thank you for impacting the world in a special way!! YOU FINISHED WELL PAPA REST ON.”
