Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Youth Leader, Sunday Udeh Omoyele, has resigned from the party.
Udeh-Okoye explained that he left the PDP because it has deviated from the founding principles of its creators.
His resignation was communicated in a letter to his Ward Chairman in Agbogugu Ward, Awgu Local Government Area, Enugu State.
In the letter, he stated: “I formally tender my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This decision was not taken lightly. The PDP has played a significant role in my political journey, giving me the opportunity to serve as a Member of the Enugu State House of Assembly, National Youth Leader, and most recently, National Secretary. For these opportunities, I am deeply grateful to the party, its leaders, and members at all levels.
However, I have increasingly observed that the ideals and vision of the PDP’s founding fathers, built on unity, justice, and equity, have been eroded. The PDP that once represented hope for democratic governance has lost its moral compass and ideological direction.
After careful consideration, I have concluded that I can no longer remain in a system that has strayed so far from its original purpose. I am therefore compelled to leave the PDP and pursue a path dedicated to restoring democracy, accountability, and service to the people, values the party has unfortunately abandoned.”
