Hugo Broos, coach of South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, has stated that his team’s failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup would have been a bittersweet experience. South Africa earned the only ticket in Group C and advanced to their first World Cup since hosting the competition in 2010. After it was determined that Bafana Bafana had won the Group and Nigeria had come in second, the 78-year-old coach spoke with Super SportsBroos noted that since he took over as coach, football in Africa has evolved, with fans no longer traveling to the stadium to watch games.
