Senator Katung of Kaduna denounces the deaths of two police officers.

Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, who represents the Kaduna South Senatorial District, has condemned the murder of two police officers while they were on duty at the Zonkwa Police Station in Zangon Kataf, Kaduna State. The officers were killed after suspected bandits reportedly broke into the police headquarters, firing shots in an attempt to access the detention room where some of their members were being held, but were met with fierce resistance. In a statement released Monday morning, Senator Katung expressed profound sadness over the attack on the Zonkwa Police Division, labeling the killings as wicked, barbaric, and reprehensible. He particularly noted the disturbing effrontery of attacking police personnel, who he recognized for their commitment to protecting citizens’ lives and property despite facing extremely difficult conditions. Expressing his grief over the incident, the Senator urged security agencies to use all necessary resources to quickly capture and bring the perpetrators to justice. He offered his deepest condolences to the families of the officers killed and the entire Police Force, praying for eternal rest for the deceased and strength for their families to bear the loss. He also called on the residents of Zonkwa and surrounding areas to remain calm, stay vigilant, and cooperate with security agencies as they work to track down the criminals and ensure they face the maximum penalty of the law.
