The Super Falcons, the reigning African champions, began practicing yesterday in Lomé, the city of Togo, in preparation for their 2026 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final qualification match. The first leg of their encounter against their Béninoise rivals is scheduled for Friday. Asisat Oshoala, the six-time Africa Player of the Year, along with newcomer Joy Omewa, Turkey-based defender Tosin Demehin, China-based forward Folashade Ijamilusi, and the home team of goalkeeper Anderline Mgbechi, defenders Blessing Ilivieda and Miracle Usani, midfielder Taiwo Afolabi, and forward Kafayat Mafisere, were among the first players to arrive at the Super Falcons’ Lomé camp.On Friday afternoon, the Super Falcons will play the Bénin senior women’s team at the 25,000-seat Stade de Kégué. On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the return leg will take place at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.
