The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the claims of forgery and signature cloning made by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, labeling them as false and baseless.
In a statement issued by BoT Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, the BoT addressed Anyanwu’s allegation that his signature was forged on correspondence sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding the party’s upcoming elective convention.
Wabara stated that although the BoT prefers to avoid publicizing internal administrative matters, the seriousness of the allegation required a clear clarification. He confirmed that the INEC notification letter was jointly signed by National Chairman Umar Damagum and Senator Anyanwu on August 25. This signing, he noted, occurred during the party’s 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting and was witnessed by critical stakeholders, including members of the PDP Governors’ Forum and the BoT.
Furthermore, Wabara pointed out that Anyanwu was later inaugurated as the Secretary of the Contact and Mobilization Sub-Committee for the 2025 National Convention. In this role, Anyanwu co-signed official communications, including appointment letters for sub-committee members, along with the Sub-Committee Chairman, Governor Douye Diri.
