Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to using sports as a potent vehicle for fostering togetherness, youth empowerment, and economic development throughout the state. This was stated by Aiyedatiwa on Monday at the Akure Sports Stadium during the O’DATIWA Under-17 Football Competition’s formal kickoff. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the competition is a nationwide event designed to identify and develop young football players throughout the state’s 18 local government districts.The tournament, according to the governor, mirrored his administration’s goal of supporting the aspirations of the next generation and creating a future in which athletics provide every young person with a sense of fulfillment and pride. “This event is about more than simply football; it’s about opportunity, hope, and our wonderful state’s future. As a government, we are consciously supporting our youth’s abilities and investing in their aspirations. Additionally, we are giving them a platform to shine in front of the nation and the world, in addition to the residents of Ondo State.Effective youth engagement reduces social vices and idleness while fostering solidarity, teamwork, and a sense of community belonging, according to Aiyedatiwa.
