Bode George, a key member of the PDP’s Board of Trustees (BoT), publicly warned former Jigawa Governor Sule Lamido against suing the party.
The warning came after Lamido threatened legal action because he was unable to get the nomination forms for the PDP National Chairmanship—the official responsible for the forms was missing during his visit to the Abuja secretariat.
George’s message was a classic stick-and-carrot approach:
The Warning (The Stick): Lamido must resolve the issue internally, and he faces punishment if he attempts to take the PDP to court.
The Assurance (The Carrot): Speaking on Channels Television, George insisted that Lamido absolutely has the right to contest and should be allowed to get his form, emphasizing that the party belongs to everyone and the competition should be seamless and non-combative. The final decision, he added, will rest with the convention delegates.
