Paul Merson, a veteran at Arsenal, has thrown out the idea that Liverpool will fire manager Arne Slot this season. Merson claims that because of Liverpool’s dismal performance over the past few weeks, Slot has placed too much pressure on himself. Due to the Reds’ recent six-out, Slot has been under pressure at Anfield. However, Merson thinks the Dutchman won’t be fired because he won the Premier League last season. “Slot won’t be fired because he will get time at Liverpool because he won the Premier League last season,” Merson told Sportskeeda. However, he has now placed too much pressure on himself ahead of Saturday’s match against Aston Villa with the squad he selected during the Carabao Cup fourth round loss to Crystal Palace. Against Palace, that team had little chance of winning. This weekend, Liverpool will play Aston Villa in the Premier League.
