Nigerians have been urged by Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, the governor of Benue State, to revive their sense of religion and patriotism as vital components in creating a more cohesive and powerful nation.
Tersoo Kula, his media assistant, claims that the governor spoke on Sunday at a Holy Mass held at Makurdi’s Government House Chapel.
Governor Alia underlined that people must embody the spirit of nationalism by loving their country and remaining optimistic in the face of adversity.
He also urged Nigerians to foster peace, hope, and mutual responsibility rather than engaging in behaviors or statements that threaten national unity. According to the governor, “We all own Nigeria.”
We must keep praying for our nation, have faith in her abilities, and do our part to help it develop. National growth is a team effort that calls for our cooperation, optimism, and diligence.
Governor Alia offered special prayers for the resting of the dead, including those in the armed forces who gave their lives in defense of the country, former leaders, and all Nigerians working toward a brighter future.
He asked God to grant all citizens wisdom, power, and supernatural protection.
The Governor promised that his government would keep enacting policies that improve the welfare of Benue people and advance Nigeria as a whole, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to peace, development, and moral renewal.
He said that collective faith and patriotic action continue to be the cornerstones of a strong nation and urged Nigerians of all religions and geographical locations to continue praying fervently for the peace, stability, and prosperity of their country.
