NPFL: A Barau FC player’s throat was allegedly slashed in Katsina.

Reports of an alleged stabbing of Barau FC player Nana Abraham during a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) game versus Katsina United have caused confusion. According to reports, the incident happened on Saturday at Katsina’s Muhammadu Dikko Stadium. Abraham was attacked, according to Barau FC, following the team’s 1-1 draw in the 69th minute. Ahmad Gwale, the club’s media director, stated that soon after the squad tied the score, a pitch invader stabbed the player in the neck.According to Gwale, the attacker was either a member of the home crowd or the Katsina United bench. He claimed that Abraham was hit by the attacker with “something like a sharp object,” which caused the game to be temporarily stopped. Pictures of the athlete bleeding around the neck while being treated by teammates and medical personnel are making the rounds on the internet. Abraham was substituted during the attack, according to Gwale, and is presently undergoing medical care. Although the game later continued under strict security, he claimed that the attack caused tension in the stadium. In a message on its official X (previously Twitter) account, the club further confirmed the attack.
