Ezra Olubi, the chief technology officer and co-founder of Paystack, one of Africa’s fintech startups, was fired after a younger employee accused him of sexual assault. Following an earlier ban imposed on him in mid-November, Olubi announced the firing in a personal blog post on Saturday, November 23, 2025. According to Daily Trust, the situation began when a social media user accused Olubi of abusive behavior. This led to considerable attention and the reappearance of multiple explicit tweets that date back more than ten years.Paystack stopped Olubi and announced that it had started a formal inquiry, including plans to employ an independent investigator to examine the accusations and the company’s internal procedures, as internet attention grew.
