The Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Sam Amadi, strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu concerning his recent choices for ambassadorial positions.
During an interview on Arise Television on Sunday, which was monitored by DAILY POST, Amadi stated that the list of nominees suggests a self-serving political objective where key diplomatic roles are determined by personal allegiance and political rewards, rather than by professional competence or a coherent foreign policy plan.
He suggested that the list clearly demonstrates the President’s perspective on governing, asserting that Tinubu is openly and unapologetically political in his method.
Amadi explained, “The president views appointments through a political perspective. He considers political utility, reciprocation, and political benefit. If you served him, you are compensated. He values faithfulness.”
Amadi also acknowledged that ambassadorial selections are inherently political to some extent worldwide.
He concluded, “This set of nominees offers insight into the President’s perspective on governing. While he displayed some level of expertise as a governor, as president, he is overtly political.”
He also mentioned that appointments to ambassadorial posts reflect a president’s moral principles.
