Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has re-confirmed his backing for Shehu Yohanna as the temporary Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State.
• In a statement from his spokesperson, Paul Ibe, Atiku called upon all ADC stakeholders in the state to function under the party structure led by Yohanna.
• Ibe further mentioned that Atiku has sanctioned the Transition Team headed by Sadiq Dasin, urging them to collaborate closely with Yohanna’s executive committee to fully establish the ADC in Adamawa.
• According to Ibe, Atiku’s instruction to the state executive and the Transition Team comes after all legal disagreements were resolved, with principal figures in the state chapter signing formal commitment agreements.
• Atiku expressed satisfaction that the Adamawa ADC is resolving its outstanding problems by year-end, stressing that a divided group cannot stand strong.
• He encouraged both the Adamawa executive led by Shehu and the Dasin Transition Team to partner in making the ADC the public’s preferred political option in Adamawa State.
• The former Vice President noted that, in accordance with the direction from the Senator David Mark-led national executive of the ADC, there will be strict intolerance for all instances of disobedience and lack of discipline.
