A Federal High Court in Lagos ordered the remand of Uche Ezeh at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre after he pleaded guilty to all four counts of narcotics exportation brought by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). Ezeh was charged with trafficking a total of 4.40 kilograms of cocaine and 11.50 kilograms of cannabis sativa. The court learned that Ezeh had allegedly recruited others on two separate occasions—November 5, 2024, and May 12, 2025—to export the drugs, concealed in food items and plantain chips, through the NAHCO Export Shed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport. Prior to Ezeh’s arraignment, the prosecution successfully substituted him for a previous defendant, Ekeocha Anayo Nelson, identifying Ezeh as the principal trafficker. Ezeh will remain in custody until December 12, 2025, when Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke is expected to review the facts of the case and pronounce judgment.
