A violent clash between suspected members of the Aiye and Eiye confraternities in the Awoyaya axis of Lagos State has resulted in at least one confirmed death and thrown residents into panic. The unrest reportedly began on Monday and continued into Tuesday, leading to the death of a young man identified simply as Pelebe. Multiple videos and images shared on social media, including the Telegram channel Naija Confra, depicted the chaos, showing the deceased victim writhing in pain and another individual suffering a severe gunshot wound to the leg during a separate attack in the Iya Alagbo area. The violence follows a similar incident barely two weeks prior during a masquerade festival in the Orile-Iganmu area. While unconfirmed reports suggest security operatives made arrests, the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, has not yet provided an official update on the incident.
