According to the Cross River State Police command, they detained and arrested Governor Bassey Otu’s special media adviser, Awade, on Friday due to his involvement in the “sudden” and “unnatural” death of Mr. Abel, a social media influencer.
On Friday morning, ASP Eitokpah Sunday Akata, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the arrest to reporters in Calabar.
Awade, a well-known radio host in Calabar, was named the governor’s special advisor.
He has been organizing support for Otu’s second-term reelection.
