Michael Collins Ajereh, better known by his stage name Don Jazzy, is a music executive who has refuted claims that his record label, Mavin Records, gives preference to certain artists over others in terms of opportunities for promotion.
The music producer stated in a recent episode of the Crea8torium podcast that it was absurd for a record label to support one artist while ignoring another.
He asserted that the record label is not accountable for the choices made by the artists who are not making waves and releasing fewer songs in Mavin.
Additionally, he asserted that the claims of neglect made by artists who believe their colleagues are more talented are caused by imposter syndrome and overthinking.
Many people have commented that we don’t give certain artists priority. However, that is untrue. It’s as if I would simply carry my cash, toss it, and lock it up somewhere. Naturally, we invest in people in order to benefit both ourselves and them financially.
Therefore, it is unrealistic to think that we would have artists and not want to give them priority. Just remember that it is the artist’s choice if you see an artist in Mavin who only releases one or two songs annually. We can release an artist’s one million songs if they wish to do so. In reality, the majority of them suffer from imposter syndrome. It’s typical. Since we are all human, people occasionally become anxious and overthink things. However, Jazzy asserted that there is no such thing as favouring one artist over another.
