Ousmane Dembele, a forward for Paris Saint-Germain, earned the French league’s best player award on Monday for the second time in his career.
The National Union of Professional Football Players, or UNFP, hosted the Ligue 1 award ceremony for 2025–2026 in Paris.
Dembele remarked, “It’s an individual trophy, but all the individual trophies I’ve won are thanks to this team,” after accepting the award.
Last year, the 28-year-old took over for fellow countryman Kylian Mbappe, who won the award five times in a succession before joining Real Madrid from PSG.
In the meantime, Dembele’s colleague Desire Doue won the prize for best young player.
Additionally, Pierre Sage won best coach after making Lens a direct rival to PSG in Ligue 1 this year.
In a similar vein, Michael Olise of Bayern Munich received Best French Player Abroad 2026, while Robin Risser of Lens earned Best Goalkeeper in the league.
