SportLa Liga: Arbeloa informed me that I was demoted to fourth striker, Mbappe

Kylian Mbappé, a Real Madrid player, is not happy with the team because of how his manager, Alvaro Arbeloa, has been treating him lately.

The French player claimed that the Spanish manager told him that he is now fourth in the Santiago Bernabeu hierarchy rather than the team’s top striker.

The Frenchman joined Los Blancos as a substitute after recovering from a thigh injury. After Barcelona was crowned league winners last week, Los Blancos will end the season without a major prize for the second time in a row.

Madrid lost the Clasico at Camp Nou on Sunday without Mbappé, solidifying Hansi Flick’s team’s title victory.

Mbappé, the club’s top scorer, has come under heavy fire from supporters in recent weeks for what they see as a lack of dedication to the squad.

In a stadium with thousands of empty seats, second-place Madrid easily defeated demoted Oviedo thanks to goals from Gonzalo Garcia and Jude Bellingham before halftime.

Both Mbappé and England international Bellingham started the game on the bench for Arbeloa, whose future as Madrid’s coach seems questionable given that Jose Mourinho is believed to be returning to the Bernabeu bench.

“I was ready to start, but Arbeloa informed me that I am now the fourth striker,” Mbappé said at a press conference after the match.

“It’s okay; we have to honor the coach’s choices. I’m going to work even harder.

“After Vini Jr., Gonzalo, and Mastantuono, Arbeloa stated that I am the fourth striker.

“I remember hearing that I should take a break during the Copa del Rey because I was playing too much. After that, we were eliminated by a team from a lower tier.

“I don’t watch Arbeloa’s press briefings. I don’t have Spanish television at home; I have French television.
