Following problems earlier this season, Roy Keane has disclosed that he had a cordial conversation with Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United.
Earlier this season, Fernandes chastised Keane for a “lie” when he said he had made the selfish decision to pass rather than shoot in his quest for the Premier League assist record.
In what was an amazing season for the Portuguese international, the United captain recorded 21 assists in the Premier League and assisted the Red Devils in finishing third in the top division to qualify for the Champions League.
Despite the media’s suggestion that the two were involved in a violent feud, Keane disclosed that the two had a cordial conversation. Now, the air has been cleaned between them.
“There was a reaction after what we said after the podcast a few weeks ago, with what I said about Bruno Fernandes, and he reached out to me, wanted to chat,” Keane states.
I gave him a call, and we had a nice conversation. We talked about a variety of topics. Sometimes you’re attempting to convey something in podcasts or games that doesn’t come across correctly, and people become irate.
“We had a pleasant, responsible discussion. It was a nice conversation.
Keane even made a joke about the outcome, adding, “I forgave him, he apologized, no problem. However, it was a pleasant conversation.
The 31-year-old will now get ready to play for Portugal this summer in the hopes of maintaining his current form and winning his nation’s first-ever World Cup trophy.
