According to Benfica, Real Madrid has declared their intention to hire manager Jose Mourinho, and the coach has already given his approval.
“Real Madrid CF has formally expressed its intention to hire Jose Mourinho for 15 million euros, and that the manager has agreed to the move,” Benfica stated in a statement.
Additionally, the Portuguese team announced that Marco Silva will take over as manager in lieu of Mourinho.
The hire has not yet been announced by Real Madrid.
If Florentino Perez was re-elected as Real president, he had promised to bring the Portuguese manager back to the team, which he had previously coached from 2010 to 2013.
Perez won the club’s first legitimate presidential contest in twenty years, securing his position on Monday.
Over the past two seasons, Real Madrid has failed miserably while Barcelona has won consecutive La Liga crowns. $1 is equivalent to 0.8667 euros.
