Taju Alade, the elected local government chairman, was ordered to be reinstated immediately after an Edo State High Court in Igarra, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, ruled on Wednesday that his impeachment was unlawful.
In his decision, Justice B. A. Okoh, the sitting court, instructed Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police, to give him the security he needs in order to return to work.
In addition, Okoh stated in his declaratory ruling that the court has jurisdiction, notwithstanding the state government’s argument to the contrary.
Details will be provided later.
