Nigerian forward, Chibuike Nwaiwu has won the Austrian Cup with Wolfsberger AC, DAILY POST reports.
Wolfsberger AC defeated Hartberg 1-0 in a keenly contested final at the 28 Black Arena.
Angelo Gattermayer scored the decisive goal with a powerful header in the 77th minute.
Nwaiwu played for the whole match.
This was the midfielder’s first significant European accolade.
remembers that Nwaiwu transferred to Wolfsberger AC from Enyimba, which has won the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) nine times, in the previous summer.
He was a member of the Enyimba team that secured the NPFL championship two years prior.
Next season, Wolfsberger AC will take part in the UEFA Europa League.
