Former Inter Milan star, Ivan Zamorano, has revealed how his former team can stop Barcelona when both sides meet at San Siro for the second leg of the Champions League semifinal on Tuesday.
He pinpointed two key strategies Inter must implement to stop Barça youngster, Lamine Yamal.
The first leg at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys ended in a gripping 3-3 draw, with Yamal stealing the show and capping off his brilliant performance with a Lionel Messi-esque goal.
In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter’s former Man spoke about Yamal’s immense talent.
“There’s no way to stop him,” he said, adding, “If a world-class player is on his day, there’s no stopping him. It’s possible to try and impose some limits on him. My conviction is that Inzaghi will discover the right answer.
“Two things come to mind: firstly, anticipation; Inter should not wait for him to receive the ball, as that would be akin to giving him the first move. Secondly, they need to restrict the players supplying him with the ball in order to decrease the frequency of his touches.
Meanwhile, Inzaghi has disclosed that Yamal will be subjected to double marking in order to limit the spaces available to him.
