Transfer: Amidst competition from Chelsea for the Ipswich striker, Man Utd has secured a deal for Delap.

Manchester United have agreed to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, amid competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

As reported by ESPN, Manchester United have notified Ipswich Town that they will trigger Delap’s release clause if the 22-year-old forward expresses a desire to join Ruben Amorim’s team this summer.

In his debut season in the Premier League with Ipswich Town, Delap has made a strong impression.

He scored 12 goals for Ipswich Town, who were demoted from the Premier League this season.

In 2020, Delap debuted professionally with Manchester City.

He has a £30 million relegation release clause in his deal with Ipswich Town.

In the meantime, Gabby Agbonlahor, who used to captain Aston Villa, advised Delap against transferring to Manchester United this summer.

This summer, Delap drew the attention of Manchester United, Chelsea, West Ham, Aston Villa, Everton, and Arsenal.
