After winning MTN Nigeria’s digital lottery draw, Miss Akaa Elizabeth, a female student in the Department of Linguistics at Father Adasu University (FAU), formerly Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi, drove home a brand-new automobile valued at 38 million. The weekend event was the culmination of MTN’s Pulse Campus Activation, a statewide initiative for youth development and participation that combines entertainment and business support for college students.Femi Adesina, MTN’s Youth Segment Manager, stated during the grand finale that the program was created to encourage young Nigerians to experiment with digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity while rewarding their commitment. We visit different campuses to interact with students, empower them, and provide them with opportunities to display their enterprises, which range from fashion and snacks to tech and perfumes.Every three-day activation concludes with a digital raffle where participants can win thrilling prizes, Adesina said. He stated that in order to be eligible for the prizes, draw participants had to be MTN Pulse subscribers and active MoMo (Mobile Money) app users who had completed at least ten transactions during the activation period. According to Adesina, the project has already visited universities including FUTO, UNIBEN, and UniAbuja. During a freestyle rap challenge, Sor Sezah Susan, a 200-level anatomy student, won a headsetSusan said, “I wish MTN could visit campus more often because this platform provides opportunities to showcase talent.” The announcement of Miss Akaa’s name amid the cheers of her fellow students who flocked to the arena to celebrate her victory left her stunned.
