Femi Awogboro, a media assistant to former Minister of Power and 2027 All Progressives Congress candidate for governor of Oyo State, Bayo Adelabu, has cautioned those who associate Adelabu’s personal assistant, Ajiboye Sangogade, with the abduction of the former minister’s younger sister and her twin sons to stop spreading the “fabricated narrative” or risk legal action.
In a statement released in the state capital of Ibadan on Wednesday, Awogboro warned that “those peddling the rumour desist or face legal action” and claimed Sangogade had nothing to do with the abduction of Adelabu’s younger sister, Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, and her twin kids, Peter and Paul.He branded the accusations “false, malicious, and uncalled for,” adding that individuals making accusations against Sangogade were attempting to damage his character and image.
We’ve seen that some people who oppose the state and progress are spreading rumors that Adelabu’s personal assistant, Sangogade, was responsible for the abduction of Adelabu’s sister and nephews in Ibadan.Sangogade was cleared of the accusation because his name was never mentioned in the police briefing as a member of the kidnapping gang, according to the state police public relations officer Olayinka Ayanlade’s recent press statement and interview regarding the kidnapping incident.
Awogboro further questioned individuals who were circulating the rumor, asking them to cite the PPRO’s mention of Sangogade in his briefing. He added that the police spokesperson only brought up one Segun in relation to the matter and never made any connection between Sangogade and the incident.”The police account of the incident has exposed their lies and cooked-up stories,” the assistant stated. Additionally, Adelabu was falsely accused by these same individuals of giving his PA, Ajiboye, who is not from the constituency, the party ticket for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election. Wale Olatunji, meanwhile, became the party’s election flag bearer.
