Senate President Godswill Akpabio has praised the late Reverend Uma Ukpai, founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, saying he remained faithful to God’s calling until his death at 80.
Akpabio noted that for decades, Evangelist Ukpai, an international preacher who led many to God, operated from Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. In a tribute, Akpabio described him as “God’s General,” highlighting his impact on both the Kingdom of God and humanity.
He said Evangelist Ukpai was not only a soul winner but also a beacon of light who remained committed to preaching globally. Akpabio added that Ukpai’s legacy includes establishing schools and medical facilities to serve communities’ educational and healthcare needs.
“His passing leaves a profound loss for the body of Christ and humanity, yet Heaven has gained an angel to watch over God’s flock,” Akpabio said. He added that though Ukpai’s journey has ended, his legacy of faith and service continues to inspire.
Akpabio extended his condolences to Ukpai’s wife, Pastor Philomena Uma Ukpai, his family, and the body of Christ, urging them to find comfort in his remarkable life and enduring impact.
