The National Youth Wing of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal of wasting public funds on political vendettas, claiming his administration has failed to tackle insecurity and poor infrastructure in the state.
In a statement released on Sunday and signed by its National Youth Leader, Comrade Danjuma Nuhu, the group described Lawal’s leadership as one marked by failure, adding that his extravagant spending on political battles only exposes his incompetence.
The statement followed the defection of Hon. Muhammad Lawal Kuryar Madaro, a former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for the Kaura Namoda South State House of Assembly, who officially joined the APC in Gusau on Saturday during a stakeholders’ meeting for Zamfara Central.
Madaro’s defection came after losing the August supplementary election, in which the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared APC’s Kamilu Sa’idu as the winner of the Kaura Namoda South constituency seat.
The APC Youth Wing also urged other PDP members dissatisfied with Governor Lawal’s leadership to join the APC and support the party’s mission for progress and stability in the state.
