Keir Starmer, the leader of the Labour Party and prime minister of the United Kingdom, has resigned.
In a statement outside 10 Downing Street on Monday, he announced his resignation and stated that the interests of the nation guided his decisions while in government.
He declared, “Every choice I have made has been about putting the country I love first.”
Additionally, Starmer used the occasion to express gratitude to his family.
He expressed love for his children, whom he referred to as his pride and joy, and referred to his wife, Vic, as his rock.
