Afrobeats artist Davido once offered him a recording deal, but he declined, according to well-known Nigerian rapper CDQ.
He clarified that Davido wanted to sign him to his record label after the success of his breakthrough single “Indomie,” but Masterkraft, his (CDQ’s) producer, chose a partnership instead, which the DMW boss rejected.
In a recent interview with the Echo Room, he revealed this.
“Davido contacted me on Twitter back then, saying he wanted to sign me,” CDQ stated. He told me that he wants to invest the money he got from his African tour to make me the most famous rapper in Africa.”I informed him that Masterkraft must be included in everything I do. Masterkraft and I spoke with him, and he advised us to think about a collaboration rather than a recording agreement because CDQ is already a street movement. However, Davido declined, and the transaction fell through.
