Giuseppe Marotta, the president of Inter Milan, emphasized that Lautaro Martínez’s powerful message was directed at midfielder Hakan Çalhanoglu.
Remember that Martinez had told his teammates in earnest that anyone who “doesn’t want to stay at the club should leave” during this summer transfer window.
Following Inter Milan’s unexpected 2-0 loss to Fluminense in the Club World Cup Round of 16 on Monday, the Argentine forward spoke.
Recall that two goals from German Cano and Hercules gave Fluminense the win against the Serie A giants.
Speaking on the development, Moratta insisted that Martinez was speaking to Çalhanoglu.
“Lautaro’s message was for Hakan Çalhanoglu. We will speak with Hakan,” Moratta said (via @TouchlineX).
“If there will be conditions to part ways, we will do it with zero problems.”
Çalhanoglu has been linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray this summer.
