Cucurella cautions Chelsea before their match against Fluminense in the Club World Cup: They have Thiago Silva

Ahead of Tuesday’s Club World Cup quarterfinal matchup with Fluminense, Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has issued a warning to the Blues.

After defeating Palmeiras in the quarterfinal, Chelsea will take on the Brazilian team on Tuesday.

Prior to the match, Cucurella stated (via The Independent) that Thiago Silva is a football legend for Fluminense.

He also cautioned Enzo Maresca’s team that Fluminense has a team full of talented and driven players.

We’ve seen a few of their matches. The Spain international stated, “They have Thiago Silva, they are very determined, and they have very good players.”

He is a great football player and a legend. Before the game [quarterfinal], he emailed me, “Let’s go, hopefully we can see you in a couple of days.” He has only played for major clubs.

“We have the chance to play against him once more, and we hope to perform well, win this game, and advance to the final, which is what we want to do.”

In 2024, Silva, 40, moved from Chelsea to Fluminense.
