According to the DAILY POST, Tanzania’s head coach, Manuel Gomandi, has commended his team for their tenacious performance against the Nigerian Super Eagles. Tuesday night in Fès, the Taifa Stars were defeated 2-1 by Eric Chelle’s team. During the game, Gomandi’s team put up a strong defense and occasionally caused the Super Eagles’ defense to struggle.In the 36th minute, Semi Ajayi nodded home a cross from Alex Iwobi, giving Tanzania the lead. Ademola Lookman scored the game-winning goal for Nigeria two minutes after Kokola M’mombwa pulled them back into the match in the fifty-first minute.Gomandi commended his teammates for their valiant effort. In his post-match interview with the media, Gomandi stated, “The performance of my players was great even though we committed the mistake from the corner where we conceded the first goal.”” The Taifa Stars’ next game is scheduled for Saturday against Uganda, a regional foe.
